Chalet Argali

This newly renovated 5 star chalet for 14 is located right on the piste on the edge of the village of Chinaillon, near Le Grand-Bornand. This ski-in ski-out property is perfect for both experienced skiers and novices, as the ski lifts and ski school are only 1km away. In the summer you can easily walk to the mountains or stroll down to the village.

Perched at an altitude of 1380m, you can enjoy excellent snow in winter, incredible views in summer and clean, invigorating air all year round.

Chalet Argali is very spacious and will accommodate a large group, whether it is a family or friends. The accommodation is spread over three floors, with plenty of separate lounges where you can meet up with others. But there is also plenty of room to enjoy meals together.
The property
The living space is spread over three floors. The main living area is on the second floor to take full advantage of the splendid views.
A very bright living room is furnished with sofas facing the balcony. In summer and winter, you can spend pleasant moments of conviviality around an aperitif, to contemplate the sunset or simply to talk about your day. Another living room equipped with a television and a table football will give you the opportunity to watch a movie or to have fun. This level has three bedrooms. One for three people with a double bed and a single bed and an adjoining shower room, and another for two, which can be arranged as a kingsize bed or twin beds. The third bedroom sleeps five as it has a double bed, a single bed and a low ceiling mezzanine with two children's beds. This room also has an en-suite shower room and a toilet. This level also has a shower room and a separate toilet.

On the floor below there is another living room and a long table where you can have your meals together, and an open plan kitchen, where you can enjoy preparing the meal. You will have access to another balcony on this level. Wrap up and drink a herbal tea while watching the starry sky. You will also find a bedroom for two on this level with an ensuite shower, as well as a laundry room with storage and a heated shoe dryer.

The last bedroom is on the garden level. The last bedroom is on the garden level and is suitable for two people. It has an en-suite shower room, a television and direct access to the terrace. You can access the ski room directly from the terrace or from inside the chalet.

As well as being a great base for skiers, Chalet Argali is perfect for the summer, with a petanque court, a sunny terrace with great views and a summer kitchen where you can enjoy making great salads to enjoy outside. There is a sauna attached to the chalet, where you can relax after an intense day in the mountains. The owners are also planning to install a hot tub on the terrace.

The owners are also the managers of the chalet. They live in the property just behind the Argali chalet and will be able to welcome you on arrival and answer any questions you may have during your stay.
The area

Experienced skiers won't waste a minute getting to the ski slope from Chalet Argali, as it passes right by. Less confident skiers can head to the ski lifts 1km down the road. From Chinaillon, you can ski the whole of the Aravis massif - 220 km of pistes - with a single ski pass.

The resorts of La Clusaz and Le Grand-Bornand are linked by ski shuttle, so you can vary the fun. There are many cross-country ski trails in the Bouchet valley and other routes from the village of Chinaillon. Beginners will love the Evo Nordik Park, which includes a circuit with varied terrain. Snowboarders will enjoy the Snowpark.

In winter, the road leading to the chalet is closed after the next bend, making it ideal for ski touring and snowshoe walking. The altitude of the chalet (1,380 m) means that you will always enjoy very good snow.

Non-skiers can go to La Clusaz's heated indoor or outdoor swimming pool or ice rink (open all year). Try snowshoeing, sledging, dog sledding or horse-drawn sleigh rides.

In summer, a plethora of activities await you. A network of hiking and mountain biking trails criss-cross the mountains. Get a map at the tourist office. Visit the fantastic Grand-Bornand aquatic complex with its restaurant and green picnic areas.

Want to challenge yourself? Take a climbing course, try the via ferrata, go to the accrobranche park, try canyoning, white water rafting or paragliding.

Le Grand-Bornand holds the Famille Plus label and boasts an attractive programme of activities for families with young children. In August the International Children's Festival is held in the village, offering a week of puppet shows, circus, workshops and ending with a big fireworks display.
