With breathtaking views over the valley and the Beaufortain mountains, you'd think the Pajules chalet was cut off from the world!
However, it is located only 10 minutes from the ski resort of Valmorel. Created in the 1970's, Valmorel is one of the newest French ski resorts and differs from older ski resorts. There are no big concrete hotels. The village has a traditional chalet style feel, with a pedestrianised square and a wide selection of shops, bars and restaurants.
If you prefer to avoid taking the car, the Valmobus ski bus stop is just 100 metres from the door of Chalet Pajules (note: the shuttle bus runs once an hour).
Summer or winter, you will never be bored staying at Chalet Pajules.
Note: holidaymakers will receive a 20% discount on the hire of snow sports equipment at the Sport 2000 shop in Valmorel (and 10% on all textile items)
This recently 3 star rated contemporary chalet is spread over three floors. On entering the ground floor, you will find a garage on your left with plenty of space to store your bikes, skis or pushchairs. The hallway has a large closet to hang your outdoor clothes for the next day, and the boot dryer will keep you ready to hit the slopes. On this floor you will also find a convenient room with a washing machine and dryer, as well as a sauna. The perfect place to relax after a busy day in the mountains.
The main L-shaped living area is located on the upper floor and makes the most of the beautiful mountain views. The fully equipped kitchen has a spacious dining area in front of the chalet and access to the large terrace, ideal for an aperitif or barbecue.
This floor also has a stylish double bedroom with en-suite shower room and separate toilet.
The remaining four bedrooms are on the top floor and include three comfortable double bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room, and a children's room with bunk beds, TV and space to play.
The two rooms at the front of the chalet are flooded with light in the mornings thanks to the bay windows. A shower room and separate toilet complete this floor.
There is parking for three cars in front of the chalet, and an additional space in the garage. Cyclists can safely store their bikes in the garage.
Chalet Pajules is located just 10 minutes from the charming ski village of Valmorel, in the heart of the Tarentaise region, and only five minutes from the nearest ski lift. The ski areas of Valmorel, Doucy Combelouvière and Saint-François-Longchamp, known as the Grand Domaine, have 50 lifts, over 340 snow guns, 15 snow parks, a boarder cross course as well as free ride, slope style and heliskiing areas.
Non-skiers will also find something to suit them, from snowshoeing to paragliding, ice climbing, hiking, Nordic walking, quad biking, airboarding and sledging! If you prefer to relax, you may enjoy a spa day at the Valmoforme wellness centre or the Spa Cîmes. Here you will find a wide selection of massages and beauty treatments as well as a spa area, gym and tea room.
Valmorel's ESF ski school offers ski lessons for all ages as well as a Piou-Piou club, where 3 and 4 year olds can learn to ski in a supervised snow garden.
In summer, the snowy slopes give way to lush pastures for hiking, mountain biking, paragliding, climbing and more. A hike to the summit of Crève-Tête will reward you with spectacular views. We also recommend the beautiful walk to the Valmorel waterfall. Maps and information are available from the tourist office.
Nearby, the Museum of Traditions in Quarante Planes offers an interesting visit, and the Magicadventure tree park in Valmorel offers zip lines, giant nets and courses for all ages. If you want to venture a little further afield, enjoy the benefits of the Thermes de Brides-les-Bains, a mountain spa centre located just 16km from Valmorel.
The historic town of Albertville, host of the 1992 Winter Olympics, and the nearby medieval town of Conflans are a 30-minute drive from Chalet Pajules.
