The property
Le Mouflon offers ski-in/ski-out access: it’s about 50 meters from the entrance to strap on your skis on an easy off-piste trail (one-star level), which leads directly to the Vars les Claux ski area, both on the way there and back. Just a few steps, and you’re on the slopes…
Based in the Hautes-Alpes and passionate about our mountains, we rent 10 chalets in Vars and Montgenèvre that can accommodate 12 to 24 people. Le Mouflon, a 160-square-meter south-facing chalet for 14 people, faces the Eyssina ridges in a quiet neighborhood of Vars-les-Claux—ideal for gatherings with family, friends, or colleagues.
The chalet features six bedrooms and four fully equipped bathrooms, with a dedicated kids’ area. There’s a storage area by the entrance for taking off skis and boots as soon as you return from the slopes. The living room and dining room, separated by a fireplace, open onto a 25 m² south-facing terrace for sun-drenched lunches. Down in the garden, a second south-facing terrace features a private outdoor hot tub heated to 37° year-round, perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes in Vars.
Amenities included: Wi-Fi, 4 TVs, 3 DVD players, dishwasher, washer and dryer, full-size refrigerator with freezer, baby and children’s gear, barbecue, raclette and fondue sets.
The Vars ski area, just steps from the terrace: 185 km of slopes at altitudes ranging from 1,650 to 2,750 m, with guaranteed snow from December through April thanks to an extensive network of snow cannons. Safe slopes for beginners, 10 black runs for experienced skiers, about 100 powder couloirs accessible by the lifts, 4 snowparks for all skill levels, and the kilometer-long speed stadium for thrill-seekers (record to beat: 255 km/h). Skiing, ski touring, dog sledding, snowshoeing, sledding, snowmobiling: explore the resort in all its forms, just a few meters from the chalet’s door.
