Chalet Carter has been completely refurbished by its owners, who have taken great pleasure in decorating it. Wood, stone and slate are combined with natural materials such as leather, wool and faux fur accessories to create a warm mountain atmosphere.

The chalet is 1.3km from the shops and restaurants of Saint Jean de Sixt, a small village ideally situated equidistant from the resorts of La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, both 4km away. If you prefer to leave your car at the chalet, you can take the skibus (free with the Carte d'hôte), which stops right next door. In summer, you can walk to the village of St Jean in 15 minutes through the forest, and to La Clusaz in 45 minutes - don't forget to visit the weekly market on Monday morning!

The chalet has 4 levels and the entrance is on the 3rd level. You pass a bedroom with a bunk bed and a shower room, before entering the beautiful living area. The large kitchen offers plenty of space to cook a feast with many hands, and the dining area opens onto a large terrace with beautiful mountain views.

The inviting living room, which overlooks the terrace and fenced garden, has a corner sofa to curl up with cushions and plaids, whatever the weather.

Upstairs there are 4 additional bedrooms. The 3 bedrooms with pull-out beds, which can be made up into two single beds to suit your needs, offer great views and access to the balcony. You will have plenty of storage space, quality bedding and a tasteful decoration with a nice design touch!

The fifth and final bedroom has three single beds, one of which is high and the children will love it. This room has a dressing room and lovely views of the garden. On this floor you will find a large family bathroom, as well as a separate shower room and toilet.

Would you like to admire the panorama while lounging in a Jacuzzi? Head for the garden level terrace! On this level, there is a laundry room and a pleasant games room with TV screen. Finally, the garage below has a ski room and plenty of space to store your equipment in winter, or your bikes and mountain bikes in summer. The little extra that makes the difference: the chalet is equipped with a charging station for electric vehicles.

NOTE: 3 of the rooms can be made up into a double or single room if you wish.

Whether you come to the Alps in summer or winter, Chalet Carter in St Jean de Sixt makes it easy to enjoy the best of the mountains. Equidistant from the villages of La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, you'll be spoilt for choice in terms of ski slopes or hiking.

With the pretty resort of Manigod, the Aravis resorts offer good snow conditions and 220 km of slopes for all tastes and all levels of skiing, and unlimited access with the Aravis ski pass. You can use the skibus network to go from one resort to another and discover new runs every day! The small resort of St Jean de Sixt has a snow line with a green slope for beginners, as well as a Nordic area for cross-country skiing lovers.

Non-skiers can relax at the La Clusaz water park, which is popular for its indoor and outdoor pools which are heated all year round, go snowshoeing, dog sledding, horse-drawn carriage rides or try ski joering - skiing pulled by a horse! After a busy day, you can pamper yourself in one of La Clusaz's superb spas...

In the spring and summer, keep on doing all the activities you can! Saint Jean de Sixt is one of only two places in the world to host the Bun-J ride, a mix of bungee jumping and sliding! It is open all year round. There is a wide range of more traditional leisure activities, including hiking and mountain biking, with dozens of marked trails in the immediate vicinity of Chalet Carter, and lifts that take you to the peaks and back down at your own pace.

Another must: farm visits! There are many farms within walking distance of the chalet, where you can watch the famous Reblochon cheese being made before sampling the delicious cheeses, or taste the farm after a good hike! You will enjoy the swimming pools of La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand and Thônes, and if you want a little adrenaline rush or simply to vary the pleasures, the possibilities are numerous: climbing, adventure course, canyoning, white water rafting, karting, horse riding, archery or paragliding, to be practiced on the spot or nearby.
